The Samsung CLX-3160FN is the entry level multifunction colour laser printer that offers a vast array of functions but at a price that is affordable to home and small business users. As we know from the inkjet printer market the true cost of a printer will be found in the price of the printer cartridges. Samsung clx-3160fn toner cartridges consist of four small round tubes that slot into the front of the printer behind the front cover, they yield fewer pages than the average Samsung toner cartridges but still offer good value in terms of cost per page of 2p for black and 10p for colour. These figures can be reduced by using compatible printer cartridges which are widely available for the clx-3160FN and cost 50% less then the genuine Samsung products. In terms of printing performance the Samsung CLX-3160FN is pretty average and has nothing to complain about and the same goes for its scanning and copying facilities. Although these functions have nothing to complain about they also have are little to praise either and this makes the only stand out feature of the Samsung CLX-3160FN its low price. But then again this is exactly what Samsung set out to do by bringing it to the market so in that sense it a success.
