As is the case with most brands, budget Epson printers are cheap to buy but the replacement printer ink cartridges cost almost as much as the printer itself. Epson follow this trend as they cost about 25% less than the printer for a full set. There is a solution to the problem for most Epson printers including the Stylus D92 and that is using compatible printer cartridges. Compatible ink cartridges are manufactured by third party companies who have no relationship with any printer manufacturers and they offer cartridges at a greatly reduced price due to the fact that they have much lower overheads than the brand name manufacturers. Compatible inks for an Epson D92 cost on average 60% les than the genuine OEM cartridges and they contain the same amount of ink and yield the same number of pages. There are some people who will believe that using compatible ink cartridges in your printer will cause damage to it, these people don’t really know what there talking about they simply believe the biased propaganda provided by the printer manufacturers trying to prevent people from buying third party inks and protecting their profit margins in sales on their own branded in cartridges. The fact of the matter is if compatibles caused damaged to printers the companies making them would go out of business as ink cartridges are consumable items and they rely on people buying their products more than once.
