One way to profit from giveaways is to enrol as a free member and download all of the free gifts. Just one of these sites will probably hand you almost all that you need to make money on the web. You can probably download ebooks and software with resell rights, plus the website template that you can use to sell them, and plenty of tips on bringing traffic to your offer.
However, there is a better way to make money from internet giveaways. You will earn much more if you have something to give away yourself, and use it to build your list.
Rosie of the-success-project.com has been making money from giveaways for several years. Here are her 8 top tips for how to profit from them.
1. Upload a good gift - something that people will really be grateful for.
2. Upload your offer and test your own opt in before the launch day. Most contributors will start promoting in the first 24 hours.
3. Have an upsell that people will see immediately when they have signed up for your gift. You can put this second offer on the download page for the free gift. I find that a relatively low priced product works best ($5 to $15).
4. Send them the link to the download/upsell page by email from your autoresponder, even if they already went straight there after they confirmed. This means they have another opportunity to buy your upsell.
5. Follow up with more emails via your autoresponder, giving either additional information or free bonus gifts.
6. Then you can begin to promote your main products (or affiliate products). Of course, you want the free gift to attract subscribers who will be interested in your later promotions, so your free gift should be related in some way.
7. Always promote the giveaway. If you do not yet have your own list, use free advertising methods such as safelists. Do some promotion every day. This will add to your contributor points so your gift is shown higher on the list where more people will see it.
8. If you are offered an upgrade for contributors where you have the chance to buy your gift a higher ranking, I recommend you take it. It pays.
Finally, keep watching the site statistics. Is your free gift getting as many signups as the others on the same page? Is your upsell converting? Are your new subscribers staying on your list? There are so many things that you can work on to increase your sales.
